I am very grateful to the Assuna Translation Agency for its trust, allowing me to serve as the Spanish to Chinese interpreter for Zuxing Company on June 7th. Although my trip to Changsha lasted only two days, I gained a lot from the experiences of certified translation services. So, after completing my work, I want to write down my insights to share with you.

First, to deliver professional interpretation, thorough preparation is essential. The reality, however, often presents us with the challenge of tight schedules and heavy tasks—requiring us to calmly handle unexpected situations. For this assignment, I received the specific time and location details just a day before the meeting, but the documents were not fully translated yet.

So, I used fragmented time during my high-speed train ride and after checking into the hotel as an opportunity to catch up. Efficient translation and repeated checking ensured that the meeting went smoothly the next day.

Secondly, there are many uncertainties during the actual business interpreting process, which demands our flexibility. For example, in this meeting, the client was in Colombia, which is 13 time zones away from us, making video calls the preferred method of communication.

Due to unstable networks and delays, there were times when I couldn’t clearly hear the other party. To ensure interpretation accuracy, the best approach was to politely ask the client to repeat key points, and they were very understanding and cooperative.

Additionally, initial nervousness in translation is inevitable, but it is completely normal. If you suddenly forget a specific expression, you need to quickly search your vocabulary for related synonyms because the role of business translation is to be an effective bridge for communication, ensuring timely, accurate, and meaningful exchange of information.

Finally, beyond solid professional interpreting knowledge, a sense of professional ethics, gratitude, and a polite and humble demeanor are essential qualities for any interpreter. During this engagement, I increasingly realized that a good collaboration makes both parties feel satisfied.

Certified Translation Services Went Smoothly

Throughout the communication process, I consistently used respectful language with both Zuxing Company and its clients in Colombia to show them the utmost respect. The warm hospitality I received in Changsha made me feel truly at home and allowed me to appreciate Zuxing Company’s corporate spirit and style. This motivated me to put in my best effort to complete the translation task, ensuring I did not disappoint the company’s trust in me.

I would also like to express my gratitude to the studio once again. Your recognition has enabled me to continually improve and enhance my skills through practical experience. The road ahead is long, but we will reach our destination with perseverance. Finally, I extend my sincerest wishes for the Agency’s future success and bright prospects!

September Projects Reflection

It’s the end of the month, and I did a quick tally of my business interpretation and translation projects. I took on fifty projects, which seems like a decent amount. September was a pretty good month for me.

All in all, I managed to get about fifty projects. I’m not sure if that’s impressive or not enough. Any project where the client paid a deposit this month counts as a September project. From July to September, I handled many global projects, including certified translation services. I asked some colleagues, and they also feel like I’m doing okay—not the best, but not the worst. The main benefit is the freedom we have in this job.
