I am an English Major from Shandong University. My first job in Shenzhen was as a sales representative at a foreign trade company.
In the year of 2010 ,my boss took me to the Canton Fair, where I learned a lot of communication skills. We met many potential clients, some of whom were so captivated by our products that they even placed orders in cash on the spot.
At that moment, I realized I was definitely a strong communicator and I enjoyed interactions with people from different cultures.
In the early spring of 2011 ,I resigned and embarked on a new career path by becoming a freelance translator. I collaborated with many translation agencies in Shenzhen, harvesting consistently positive feedback, and thus they loved to assign more translation tasks to me.
From 2011 to 2012, I was almost daily consulted by my clients. Then, in 2012, I made decision to reshape my role and establish Assuna Translation Agency of my own, which has now evolved into my current company. Back then, I intertwined my business network with many peers in Shenzhen, and we would often introduce translation jobs to each other.
Between 2012 and 2017, I plunged into the translation market front line, participating in numerous large-scale conferences. This included everything from exhibitions and business negotiations to more challenging technical meetings. I also traveled extensively as a business interpreter to various countries, handling high-level conferences interpretation , such as interpreting for government departments, delegations, or training sessions with several hundreds attendees. In total, I visited over 20 countries during this time.
After 2017, my focus shifted towards the operational aspects of running my own company. It became evident that I couldn’t sustain being on the front line indefinitely by myself, given the multitude of clients and various consultations demanding my attention. Thus, I made the strategic decision to prioritize translation operations.
While operating my company, I would also consider our clients’ needs and match them with the most suitable translators or interpreters. I could assess what type of translator or interpreter they require. For instance, whether they prefer younger or more experienced interpreters, or interpreters with specific personality traits or background knowledge, I could always make sure to match them with the right ones.
It’s been seven years since 2017, my main focus has been on running my translation company.
And since 2023, we have been receiving numerous staffing requests from overseas clients. Our clients are spread across the Middle East, North and South America, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and Oceania.
No matter where they are, we can match them with local personnel, saving them a lot of travel expenses. Since I have a background in translation with technical expertise, I pay close attention to the emotional intelligence of the translators or interpreters during the matching process.
Thanks to our localized selection, our services are very
cost-effective. Additionally, we have built a strong network for less
common languages like Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian,
Japanese, and Korean. For rare languages like Persian, Finnish, and
Swedish, we also have reliable resources.
When it comes to document translation, we will review each sentence carefully. I will personally get involved in the review process to ensure that all translations are accurate and free of ambiguity. This is especially important for contract documents, which require precision.
We will meticulously check each word and sentence to make sure the final document meets the client’s needs and maintains clarity, accuracy, and elegance. We also ensure logical consistency. Since I started my career as a translator myself, I am particularly strict in proofreading.
Over the years, I have been grateful for the trust of all our clients. We have served over 10,000 clients of various business scales, and my reputation is quite strong within the industry.
